What a month!
February was very full.
I’ll start with the happenings at home.
The cold finally and slowly eased, leaving the animals happy to be outside in the sun and lots of snow for skiing and playing.
Book Across the Bay was a highlight!
Skiing miles across the Chequamegon bay at night fall, with the stars above, Lit by thousands of ice lumineers, fantastic!
Coulter and Cedar have been ice climbing tons, with weekend trips to Canada sending crazy hard routes as always.
The ice skating in Lake Superior has continued!
So magical!
The lake has been freezing over less as the years have gone on, and we’re lucky to still get some of these amazing experiences.
With a brief cold spell, the lake froze enough that the sea caves along the south shore opened up for the first time in almost a decade!
Luckily the National Park made a safe call to closed them after only one day open, as the NEXT day all the ice was blown out to the lake!
For me (your writer) February has been a bit different, I have been working in Hawaii! On an organic farm just outside of Kilauea, on Kauaii!
This experience has been full of many feelings, joy, wonder, curiosity, inspiration, challenge and so much learning.
Finding a rhythm and adjusting to a different climate, time zone, life style and daily flow has been a lot, but on the other hand, learning from the land, meeting the most amazing people and exploring this magical place has been the biggest gift.
I got my hands in the soil, explored the jungle, felt the rain on my skin, and the warmth of the sun, all in this beautiful place.
Whether on the farm or in the community surrounding, this place is filled with love and light. (even if it hides behind rain clouds for weeks). It’s truly a magical island.
One of the most inspiring parts of my time was experiencing the magic of community.
Everyone seems so happy, and as I looked around everyone was healthy and beautiful, happy perhaps as a side effect of the paradise they were living in? Or, as I soon realized, the community.
Those who gave to the community those whom were part of, who loved and healed those around them, and those who shone love; received it all in return, they received the love and support they put out, the happiness and joy.
And as a side effect, they glowed, their person literally wminated light, from sun and love and their community, because It was nourishing.
It was healing. And it was so inspirational.
I think we all have dreams of what we want our life to look like, but “it’s just a dream” or “not reality”, I said the same thing while living in Hawaii, I mean everyone wants to live in Hawaii. But it’s really possible, yes the living in Hawaii part but I mean the making your dream life your reality life.
The saying, “where your love goes, your energy flows”, is so potent, what if we have the power to make our dreams come true, simply by believing? What if we can make the impossible possible with the power we have inside of ourselves? I think that power is love, and positive energy, the want to change and the connection of community and when that is magnified by many people, it’s truly a force.
We are stronger together, as people, and with the world we live in we have to remember “the power OF the people”, not “the power OVER people”.
I wrote a poem as a thirteen year old, when I was confused and hurt by the state of our world, coming into understanding what it means to live as a human. Here is a line I think resonants with today and my message about love energy:
“…The American flag represents the United States, but united mixed up can say untied and with the hate I see in the states it tells me they lied and it’s more untied. But we can fix that with love and if we’re patient; so why don’t we hasn’t to do so? Because our enemies have more power, but in this hour all that matters is love.”
I met some amazing people on Hawaii, including musicians who believe in positive frequency, they believe that putting love into the universe, through however you like; song, prayer, art, meditation, makes a difference for good, that those love filled actions matter and count.
I believe that too.
I encourage you all to find what connection you believe, and use it to spread love all over this hurting country. The one teaching that is truly shared through every person all over the world, Love.
Alright well I’m going to wrap this up before I get to cheesy, but I really do believe “what the world needs now, is love sweet love” ;)
Spread love and light
~Savi
